Went on that route about a week ago with tickets bought online and printed at home. Looking at buying tickets Paris to Avignon.. My understanding is that the IDTGV is just a car that is attached to the TGV train...but tickets for this car can be had at lower pricing.. However, eat dinner in Avignon. iDZEN is a quiet car, no kids or cell phone voice calls.

The best way to travel between French town & cities is by train, in comfort at ground level. The good news though is that LOISIR fares are not the highest price point for tickets and they are exchangeable for free up until the day of or day before (I'm not sure) travel and can be exchanged for a small fee after the deadline but before scheduled travel time.
